Thank you for visiting my page! I am enjoying my 24th year here in this school district and my first as the high school guidance counselor. My family resides in Cape Girardeau. In my spare time, I take care of my family and work a second job. I am honored to be a long standing member of the staff. It's so awesome to see whole families that I have taught! (No, this does not make me old.)

FAFSA

It is the time of year to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for those attending college.  Beware of sites like FAFSA.com or websites that take advantage of a typo, for example FASFA. These sites will collect your personal information for their own use and may even charge you money to do so! Scams such as this are called typosquatting. These websites depend on the user making a typographical error such as a misspelling or incorrect phrasing. They also take advantage of a simple mistake such as .com versus .gov.

Any time you utilize a website that requires personal information, double check to ensure you access the correct site. Watch for signs the website isn’t legitimate, such as charging for a free service. When using a search engine don’t automatically choose the first site in the search results. You may also want to bookmark sites that will be used again.
